Biography

Ministry Focus: Professional Pastoral Counselor
I have been in private practice as a counselor/therapist since 2007, and am founder and Director of Becomer Counseling Services in Roanoke TX. Credentialed as a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor, I utilize extensive pastoral experience, personal recovery/freedom journey, counseling and training and skill sets in the focus areas of individual, marriage and family, grief, abuse, addictions, anger, spiritual direction/freedom and personal growth.
Professional pastoral counseling is a unique form of counseling which uses spiritual resources as well as sound psychological understanding for healing and growth. It is provided by certified pastoral counselors who are mental health professionals that have also had in-depth religious and/or theological training.
Becomer Counseling exists to assist people in becoming fully alive, whole human beings as designed by their Creator. It utilizes a therapy process that helps in identifying and healing the hurts, habits and wounds that block/hinder intimacy with God, oneself, family, other relationships and a fruitful life — ‘not who one was, nor is yet to become, daily becoming one as designed by God to be.’ (Ephesians 3:20, NIV). My personal 20 year freedom journey toward emotional and spiritual wholeness radically impacts my life and worldview. See http://www.BecomerCounseling.com
For eighteen years I have facilitated and trained facilitators for Making Peace With Your Past Support Groups and Moving Beyond Your Past Support Groups (13 wk biblically sound) which focus on a process for emotional and spiritual healing/freedom – becoming healthy and whole human beings rather than human doings.

Personal Mission Statement:
I desire to know, love, serve and glorify Father God, to nurture silence, solitude and the spiritual disciplines, to flourish in my gifts, to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ’s acceptance and unconditional love with people so that they have the greatest opportunity of becoming emotionally and spiritually whole, fully developing followers of Jesus living in freedom.

Passion:
My passion is the birthing and freedom process:
• to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He births pre-Christians into the Kingdom of God, to help them receive His unconditional love and identity in Christ – to love God intimately
• to encourage and assist battered, broken, bruised and wounded people to find help, hope and healing in Jesus as they make transitions to new emotional/spiritual freedom and transformation
• to coach and equip pastors and laity in implementing support/recovery/freedom groups as ‘safe places’ in Christ’s Church where wounded people experience healing/freedom and wholeness through Jesus Christ in safe groups, and come to know God as Father; to assist local churches to become healthy
